Scheme and interchange fees are driven by variables such as the card level (e.g. platinum / commercial), country of merchant, issuer, merchant segment, transaction type (online or card not present) and more.

The fees are set by the card schemes Visa and Mastercard and are regulated in some countries.

Acquirer fees are set by Viva Wallet and determined by monthly card volume.

Effective 19 October 2019, in line with commitments made to the European Commission, Visa and Mastercard will amend interchange fees for transactions involving consumer cards issued outside the European Economic Area (EEA) occurring at merchants located in the EEA.
